Ashley Chan is a Shareholder of the Manager and was employed by the Manager in 2007-2008. He is the senior economist for Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Australia) based in Perth, Western Australia and was previously senior economist at New Zealand Oil & Gas and Mighty River Power. Ashley’s commercial expertise is in petroleum and LNG projects as well as geothermal, wind, hydro and gas-fired power stations. He has also advised indigenous (native) titleholders in their successful negotiations to obtain royalty payments for property use by electricity generators; and on behalf of low-income consumers for a major electricity price tariff re-set in a Pacific Island developing country. Ashley graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours in Economics, and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Sam Weir is an Analyst having joined the Manager in August 2013 whilst completing his Masters in Financial Economics at Massey University. He has previously worked as a journalist, researcher and sub-editor for a number of newspapers including; World Tribune, In These Times, The Zimbabwe Independent and The Guardian. Sam was based in Afghanistan and Zimbabwe during his time as a journalist.
